Burns in children are a serious problem given the high risk of mortality presence of incapacitating injuries, functional and aesthetic; they are an important cause of accidental death in children. Pediatricians play an important role, instructing parents to prevent more common burns in children. Burns can be caused bychemical, biological and physical, the latter are the most common cause of burns in our midstand they include hot liquids, fire and electricity. Diagnosis is made by assessing the depth, extent, location and patient age. For the prognosis calculate the severity index, and must meet the criteria for deciding hospital out patient or inpatient management of burned patients. The goals of treatment of major burns are, in or derof importance: preserve life, preserve function, reduce cosmetic deformity limiting psychological and socialre integration to get full. For electrolyte replacement using the Parkland formula. The usual treatment of burns is generally in the cleaning of the wound, use of topical coverage and bandage the injury.
