Abstract

Tuberculosis is one of the oldest diseases known to humans and is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. This disease is caused by a bacterium, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and often affects lungs and up to 33% of cases it involves other organs, so this study aims to know how is the management of patients with tuberculosis (20 - 25 years) because many of them do not comply with the appropriate treatment remains a potential source of infec-tion for society, taking into account the issues raised performed a descriptive, comparative and cross section in the Hospital Quillacollo and the Hospital Mexico simultaneously from June 2009 to June 2010 it was utilized the medical records of 108 Hospital Quillacollo patients and 56 Hospital Mexico patients.The results showed that patients who completed treatment and did control (smear) is 50% (54 of 108 patients) in Hospital Quillacollo and 43.8% (24 of 56 patients) in Hospital Mexico, regarding prevalence of patients aged 20-25 years the results are: 28.6% (16 of 56 patients) in Hospital Mexico and 13% (14 of 108 patients) in Hospital Quillacollo, and found that 64% ( 9 of 14 patients) were male in Hospital Quillacollo and 75% (12 of 16 patients) are men in Hospital Mexico.
