Abstract

PAZ, Martha  and  VACA, Josue. Young people in quarantine: looks and proposals from art and communication. Punto Cero [online]. 2020, vol.25, n.41, pp.51-59. ISSN 1815-0276.

All artistic work is a producer of sense. Sixty-seven videos produced by Bolivian youth on the pandemic and quarantine have allowed to take an social x-ray of what they experienced, they felt and thought about the health crisis situation, lockdown and social distancing. Video clips, fiction dramas and documentaries were deconstructed to build a representative collective discourse, as proposed by the semiologist French Jacques Derrida. The pandemic and the quarantine, with its direct consequences (illness, confinement and infoxication) and indirect (uncertainty, fear, anxiety and depression), they have reconfigured our lives, redirected our priorities and creating a new normal. That's what the young people say.

Keywords : Pandemic; Coronavirus; Quarantine; Social distancing Youth; Art; Communication; Bolivia.
