The article analyzes the representations and interpretations of the newspaper El Pregón de Jujuy in the context of the crisis of 2001. This line proposes two central contributions to the topic. First of all, to deepen the knowledge of the representations about the crisis of 2001 from a subnational and peripheral perspective within our country, as is the case of the newspaper El Pregón de Jujuy. In this regard, the social sciences have produced a vast production around 2001 but more focused on the events that took place in the Federal Capital and province of Buenos Aires, and also around the representations of the various political actors in these geographical areas. The second contribution is to the understanding and analysis of the interpretations that a local medium made of the 2001 days, taking as its starting point that the media are political actors that seek to influence the representations of society as a whole.
