Abstract

This work aims to analyze the state of information balance during the journalistic coverage of the 2014's General Elections by La Razón and Página Siete which are the main newspapers in La Paz, Bolivia with national circulation. General research methods, the content analysis technique and the measurement of information balance toolkit designed by the Observatorio Global de Medios and Marin (2007) were applied during this research. A descriptive analysis was performed on a sample of two composite weeks. The results demonstrate that the news general treatment was moderately balanced, obtaining 3.75 points in the seven indicators of form and informative content in which the journalist stood out more than the media in the news production.
