Abstract

ROJAS CACERES, Yvonne. Educational uses of social networks, beyond the exchange of information: Practices of teachers and students for the construction of virtual learning environments at the Bolivian Catholic University of Cochabamba. Punto Cero [online]. 2018, vol.23, n.37, pp.41-53. ISSN 1815-0276.

This article describes relevant aspects of the qualitative research process, on the adoption and educational uses of social networks by teachers and university students, for the construction of virtual learning environments. In this sense, it exposes findings of the analysis, such as the generativity of learning and knowledge in networks, the implicit and explicit educational use in its uses, from the construction of meta-cognitive processes; and the regime of practices and attitudes that enable the building of virtual learning environments (VLE). The study starts from the assumption that social networks are currently required by actors in socialization processes and in their educational training. This situation is observable in the population of students and teachers of the Bolivian Catholic University of Cochabamba, specifically in the Communication career.

Keywords : Adoption; Educational uses; Virtual social networks.
