Abstract

RODRIGO, Federico. (Neo) nationalism and everyday life. Bolivian migrants at theperiphery of the city of La Plata, Argentina. Punto Cero [online]. 2014, vol.19, n.28, pp.25-32. ISSN 1815-0276.

The article points out ways to build (and rebuild) the national affiliation not recognized by the literature on the subject. Thus, byreferring to field work developed through a qualitative methodological strategy implemented in a peripheral area of the city of LaPlata, we present a Bolivian identity is significant in everyday life with nationals and not in intercultural spaces of interaction. Then, the process of “migrant incorporation” involves not only the income(with varyingle velsofconflict) to pre-instituted system sof relationships and meanings but also the intervention on these systems and even the generation of associated spaces but withspecific characteristics. Thus, by placing the question of power relations at the center of concerns for the ways in which social groups symbolically organized community life, we signed in the theoretical space of communication / culture (Cf. SCHMUCLER, 1984) in which subjectivity and everyday life are recognized as central aspectsof cultural conformation (Cf. MARTÍN-BARBERO, 1987).

Keywords : Migration; everyday life; nationalism.
