Abstract

GONZALEZ PEREZ, Carlos Federico. Peircean semiotic approaches to learning in organizations: Amuseum case analysis. Punto Cero [online]. 2014, vol.19, n.28, pp.17-24. ISSN 1815-0276.

In this paper, we analyze learning processes generated within a museum-organization. We propose toconceptualize these processes in the context of the operations involved in logical relationships between theentities of the Peircean sign, from a cognitive perspective. From this theoretical proposal we analyze interviewsmade to the museum-case’ staff, with specific symbolic semiotics’ operations. Thus, the concept of “learning” is brought into relation with other related or contrasting concepts, according to the interpretation of the interviewees. In this way, we show some internal needs of the organization, and we visualize how various organizationalactivities generate specific learning processes, as with museology.

Keywords : organizational learning; museums; Peirce; semiotics; sign.
