This essay presents the path followed by the Bolivian Association of Communication Researchers (ABOIC), and its labor to institutionalize and promote the Communication Research through its thirty years of existence. This work describes two periods of this trajectory and points out the activities of ABOIC as part of an academic legitimacy and encouragement construction process. It also identifies key moments in this story like the foundation or re-foundation of the Association and the people that made this possible.
