The struggle over the construction of a highway across the Isiboro Secure National Park in Bolivia (TIPNIS) reveals the discursive multiplicity in the identity and image building process of the ruling Movement toward Socialism (MAS) in Bolivia. Social organizations and institutions concemed that interacted in the political arena questioned the inconsistency between the original MAS's discourse and his later speech throughout the conflict. The social organizations also reject this discourse and sought for the renewal of the MAS's political behavior. In other cases, the social organizations sustain the choices of this political party and required to deepen the political process.
