Abstract

After the clashes of January 11, 2007, young people in Cochabamba have acquired an endless practices and discourses of exclusión regarding the popular sectors. This exclusion becomes in racism and creates segregation and differentiation across various social spaces, which are adopted by the young people as distinction scenery in order to maintain the separation between social sectors. The discrimination and denial of the "other" exists, it is expressed in various "communicational producís" used by young people, through which a contradictory political speech is used. From those speeches, a negative imaginary has emerged about the popular sectors. Young people have Consolidated "voluntary ghettos" to maintain security and especially to remain separated from the "others". They have reached the limit, not only to exclude but also annihilate.
