Abstract

BARBOSA, Alexandre. The alternative press as resistance to the newspaper industry resulting from the process of neo-colonization. Punto Cero [online]. 2010, vol.15, n.20, pp.67-75. ISSN 1815-0276.

This article shows how the Latin American continent has been divided by historical processes in regions called "Official Latin America" and "Popular Latin América", with their respective organic media. While the newspaper industry represents the ideological apparatus of "Official Latin America", the alternative and community press tries to build a process of counter-hegemony as a form of resistance in Popular Latin America.

Keywords : Latin American alternative press; press and neo-colonization.
