The objective of this text is to present some reflections deriving of in progress research on the relations between memory and configurations of cultural identity in the Kaingang's communication processes. The reflections are based on the theoretical-methodological proposals of sociocultural mediations and contributions of oral history, to investigate the Indigenous places in the media-constructions and in the appropriations operated by interlocutors located in the flows of the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre (RS/Brasil).
