Abstract
Times of Revolution: The Medias Key Role and Polarization in Venezuela. Punto Cero [online]. 2009, vol.14, n.19, pp.43-52. ISSN 1815-0276.
Abstract This article reviews some Venezuelan tendencies and events from the past few years, within a general context of a stage of significant political and institutional transformations in the country, and a government, that of Hugo Chávez, who gives a notable importance to its media dimension, therefore producing what authors such as Marcelino Bisbal (2006) have called the communicator-State. The media, with an evident political intervention, have played a key role in the public scene in the Venezuela governed by Hugo Chávez who took office in February 1999, and on whose political project, The Bolivarian Revolution, the Venezuelan society has been quite divided.
