Abstract This article is about the Cochabamba’s cinematography between 1951 and 1964. It takes into account the movies (documentaries or not) that were produced in this period from two movie entities fundamentally. On the one hand, it shows the intervention of the Cinematographic Section of the Department of Culture of San Simón's Major University which was directed by René Bilbao and; for other one, the activity of two institutions of the State: the Cinematographic Department in the first instance and, then, the Cinematographic Bolivian Institute.
