Resumen
The Political Communication as a Right and as a Duty in Democracy. Punto Cero [online]. 2009, vol.14, n.18, pp.7-14. ISSN 1815-0276.
Abstract Communication is a social right, that unavoidable extends in democracy to a condition of a political right, as a result of the citizenship sovereignty over any form of political power and the consequent need that the people could maintain a constant communication with the political structure, which also turns into a duty, because if it doesnt do it, democracy loses its meaning. Therefore, Political Communication is a right-duty, rooted in the citizenship condition and that must be protected not only through specific laws but also through ethics. The political actors (Civil Society, State, political parties, mass media, etc.) must direct their conduct to that principle, because if they dont do it, democracy turns into something unreal. From this condition, Political Communication (as a right and as a duty) also turns out to be a detonator and in an articulating frame to give force to the rest of all others democratic rights.
