Abstract This work focuses on the close relationship that democracy establishes between ethics and politics. A democratic regime creates its own source of ethical legitimacy based on the observance of the rights that everyone inherently has without any discrimination. It incorporates communication as yet another natural right, without which not any of the other rights could attain validity. Consequently, communication becomes a true coordinating axis for political ethics in democracy.
