Abstract
Cubrimiento de elecciones presidenciales de 2006 en Colombia: ¿Invitando a la participación o promocionando una película?. Punto Cero [online]. 2006, vol.11, n.13, pp.55-62. ISSN 1815-0276.
Abstract This article approaches the narrative resources used by television news reporters with the greatest rating in Colombia, to build the story of the presidential re-election of Alvaro Uribe. The story, based on the model of the voyage of the hero, showed the trip of the president candidate from the constitutional sentence that approved re-election until the day of the re-election itself. This trip was told in conformity with the mythical heroic scheme which disabled a vision of the opposition as valid and created doubts on the validity of a plural political universe. By analyzing the news on the electoral process, emitted between January and April of 2006, the study demonstrates the scarce visibility given to the "other" candidates, and how the construction of the "hero" made impossible for Uribe to loose the elections. The use of these procedures make difficult to strengthen democracy and developing in the citizens the value of political pluralism
