The present document analyzes investigations regarding the theoretical and methodological focusing of the thesis defended under the ruling of graduation modalities that the Social Communications career of the Universidad Católica Boliviana “San Pablo” de Cochabamba offers. A total of 401 thesis defended until December 2005 were considered. The content is divided in three parts: first, statistic charts on the thesis modality are presented, highlighting aspects such as areas of research, places, gender and others. In both second and third parts, the modalities of Graduation Exam and Graduation Project are developed, presenting data and charts that show comparing elements with thesis works.
