Abstract

ARCE RUDON, Katya. El juego de poder entre la comunicación política y la sociedad: complicidad o subordinación. Punto Cero [online]. 2005, vol.10, n.10, pp.37-43. ISSN 1815-0276.

The purpose of this essay is to summarize the role of political communication in consolidated democratic spaces. For that, we consider a theoretical approach to some of its constituent elements. We began locating the resurgence of civil society and its political implications in three different democratic scenes. Then we call on the conceptof public space which is the daily arena where civil society grows. This theoretical approach helps us to visualize two ideological trends in the conception of political communication as proposed by two authors: Jurgen Habermas and Niklas Luhmann. In the last part of the essay, we propose an approach to political communication through settingup different ways of media agendas.

Keywords : political communication; democracy; public space.
