The alteration of the production of prolactin (PRL) is connected to several diseases, one of the most common being the one to pituitary adenoma. The purpose of this study is to determine the frequency of hyperprolactinemia with the presence of pituitary adenoma in our own social environment.Through the fluorimetric method (DELFI-PROLACTIN), a study was conducted in 252 samples with identification requests for prolactin, and a significant relationship of 63% was found between hyperprolactinemia and the presence of pituitary adenoma (presumptive diagnosis). Altogether, this fenomena is more frequent in women from 30 to 40 years, mainly.
