Introduction.-

Hospital or population records of a certain disease, by taking the variables, in this case acute myocardial infarction, are the best methods to know the incidence and prevalence of this disease,

Objetives.-

To know the frequency of acute Myocardial infarction in the city of La Paz. Determine its characteristics. Quantify its lethality. Mention the risk factors. List the Different treatments carried out.

Methods.-

The cases of acute myocardial infarction that occurred in the years 2022 and 2023 were taken into account, in the hospitals and Health Centers of La Paz.

The variant data was recorded in a database, which was digitized in the application: Docs Google.com. Then the number of cases was calculated for each year and per 100000 inhabitants

Results.-

One hundred and twenty two cases were reported, therefore 61 patients presented per year , 5 per month and 1 o 2 per week. The most frequented risk factors were: systemic arterial hipertensión, hyperlipidimia an diabetes. Primary angioplasty was performed in 63%. Fatality was 3,3% (4 patients) 2 due To cardiogenic shock.

Conclusions.-

The prevalence of acute myocardial infarction in La Paz according to thes data is 2,9 per 100000 inhabitants per year. The fatality was low; these data compared to other records are different. The primary angioplasty performed, although with a significant number, is lower when compared with other registries outside the country.
