CRISPIN, Deyssi y DURAN, Juan José. CLINICAL AND ULTRASONOGRAPHIC CORRELATION OF GESTATIONAL AGE WITH THE CAPURRO TEST AT MUNICIPAL BOLIVIANO HOLANDES HOSPITAL. Rev. Méd. La Paz [online]. 2019, vol.25, n.2, pp.19-26. ISSN 1726-8958.
Introduction: Estimation of gestational age is a crucial point for obstetric decisions as well as postnatal prognostic evaluation. An uncertain gestational age is associated with perinatal adverse results including low birth weight, preterm birth and perinatal mortality. Objective: To correlate clinical and ultrasonographically with Capurro Test the gestational age of attended pregnancies at Municipal Boliviano Holandés Hospital from January to December in 2016. Material and methods: Correlational, cross-sectional and retrospective study. We studied 206 pregnant women attended at Municipal Boliviano Holandés Hospital during the year 2016. Results: The maternal age of higher frequency was 20 to 29 years old (50%). Second pregnancies were the higher frequency of maternal parity (43.2%). A good correlation between the gestational age obtained by Symphysis-Fundus Height measurement and Capurro Test was observed in most of the pregnant women (87.4%), with a Pearson correlation of 0.7. The correlation between gestational age by ultrasonography and Capurro Test was positive (78.2%) in most of the pregnant women, with a Pearson correlation of 0.6. Conclusions: Gestational age obtained by Symphysis-Fundus Height measurement and by ultrasonography have an adequate correlation with Capurro Test.
