Abstract

The aim of this article is to expose a case of "acute apendagitis omental", observed in the Hospital Municipal Los Pinos of La Paz Bolivia, in a male of 30 years patient initially diagnosed as acute surgical abdomen, who during the surgery identified a mass in front of sigmoid colon, whose histopathological study gave the end of appendices omental complicated diagnosis. The acute apendagitis primary omental is a rare non-specific entity and therefore little known, despite being causative of abdominal pain, which often takes patients who suffer from it to consult with the emergency services imitating a surgical acute abdomen; leads occasionally to procedures laparoscopic or unnecessary laparotomies. In addition, focuses not only the predisposing and etiological aspects, but standardized diagnostic means, which implies taking into account in this disease diagnosed once, to be able to focus the treatment according to the findings and the patient's condition.
