Resumen

SAAT ESCOBAR, Gabriel; SANCHEZ PONCE, José; GRUBERG CAZON, Helga  y  FERREIRA, Wanderley Julio. Evaluation of the effects of compost dosing to contribute to soil restoration and productivity of corn (Zea mays) crops at Hacienda Pairumani (Cochabamba-Bolivia). RevActaNova. [online]. 2024, vol.11, n.4, pp.373-384.  Epub 30-Nov-2024. ISSN 1683-0789.  https://doi.org/10.35319/acta-nova.202426.

As part of the "Restaura" project between Universidad Católica Boliviana San Pablo and Hacienda Pairumani, the need to study to what extent a higher dosage of compost is viable in maize (Zea mays) cultivation was demonstrated. In the study, the effects of applying 20 t/ha (T1), 10 t/ha (T2) and 0 t/ha (T0) of compost were compared. The statistical analysis showed significant differences between treatments, and it was determined that the treatment of 20 t/ha (T2) of compost showed the best results in terms of plant development, grain yield, silage, fertility and soil microorganisms. Furthermore, the economic cost-benefit analysis showed positive results to increase compost to 20 t/ha and thus make soil restoration and corn production viable.

Palabras clave : Compost; yield; microorganisms; fertility; degradation; soil restoration.
