MONTENEGRO, Edgar y LUJAN PEREZ, Marcos. Analysis of the seasonal variation of atmospheric pollution and its relation with meteorological variables in the central valley of Cochabamba - Bolivia. RevActaNova. [online]. 2018, vol.8, n.3, pp.451-466. ISSN 1683-0789.
In the present study an analysis is made of the seasonal and spatial variation of the primary pollutants (PM10, NO2 and SO2) and of ozone that are monitored by the MoniCA network in the city of Cochabamba. It was established that, due to the characteristics of the orographic environment of this city, the height at which it is located and its climatic conditions, ventilation of the atmosphere in the winter season is much lower than in summer. This causes that the levels of inmission of the primary pollutants are much higher in the winter months (June, July) than in the summer months. The áreas with the highest vehicular traffic present higher levels of contamination by primary pollutants. The Ozone presents a seasonal behavior more related to the intensity of solar radiation, this causes that the months of the spring present higher levels of Ozone (September to November) and, to a certain extent at the beginning of the autumn (March, April).
