PEREIRA-PELAEZ, Daniel. Simulation of pollutant dispersion in the atmosphere of biomass power plant. RevActaNova. [online]. 2018, vol.8, n.3, pp.376-396. ISSN 1683-0789.
The present work consists in the simulation of the dispersion of pollutants in the atmosphere from biomass power plant, within the framework of the Regulation of Prevention and Environmental Control (RPCA) of the Law of the Environment N° 1333 for Environmental Impact Assessment Studies (EIAs). The study area is located in the Amazon region of our country, with its climatic classification and analysis of historical data of meteorológical parameters and an environmental baseline study. Appropriate Gaussian equations were used for gases and particles in different categories of atmospheric stability and corresponding corrections, considering the wind rose, distribution of its prevailing directions, plume rise and mass flows among others, which allowed to predict and evaluate the environmental impacts and mitigation measures, and an Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP). The results will be applied in determining the changes in the air quality, evaluating the effectiveness of the measures and if it is necessary to make adjustments to the operation of the biomass power plant.
