This paper investigates the expressions of climate change in relation to agricultural production and family and institutional resilience strategies that guarantee food security in the Quechua community of Caico. The study is addressed from anthropology, with the use of ethnography and its main tools in field work: interview and in situ observation. It is complemented by group work, survey and filling cards in a participatory social construction workshop. Caico is an area characterized by dairy production, which supplies the Municipality of Cercado, Cochabamba, as well as a past of wide and varied agricultural production affected by climatic variations. The area is exposed to climatic risks that affect the livestock production and daily life of the population, in their production, access, use and stability in terms of consumer food, buying / selling and fodder for livestock. The risks of frequent exposure are droughts and heat waves which have been accentuated in recent years by the water crisis for irrigation and consumption; The variability of the climate that affects in a decreasing agriculture that forces the villagers to acquire fodder of other departments to supply their cattle. In addition, the overproduction at low prices of the milk that is distributed to the company PIL. Given this, the community has implemented strategies of resilience, such as drilling wells and a greater investment in foreign products to maintain the family economy and the production of the area, which however do not completely counteract the environmental effects.
