This article is a study of the existing offshore wind resource on the island of Lanzarote (Spain). To carry out this task,  it has been used the data obtained from the network information WANA, which consists of a set of nodes of mesh model calculating WAM wave generation, which was forced by wind fields generated by the meteorological model HIRLAM. It was taken into account WANA nine nodes that surround the island, where the volume of data is considered sufficient to assess the wind potential of the study area. The final assessment was made based on the calculated average of the values obtained mainly equivalent hours parameter, but also took into account the average speed, the average performance schedule and significant wave height.
