Abstract Objective: Determine the food consumption of pregnant women, women who breastfeed, and children from 0to 5 years old, that are attended in first level Health Centers in La Paz City in September 2018. Materials and methods: A descriptive and correlational cross-sectional study was carried out on 126 pregnant women, 120 breastfeeding women, 105 children from 0to 5 months, and 117children from 6 to 60 months, who attended a consultation in Health Centers. The 24-hour recall method was applied to determine food consumption. Results: The average intake of 1,999 kcal in pregnant women and 1,943 kcal in lactating women is lower than recommended; inadequate in fats, calcium and zinc; sufficient in proteins, carbohydrates, and vitamins A and C; iron is deficient in pregnant women. The adequacy levels of the diet in children aged 6 to 23 months are 88.3% calcium, 75% iron. From 24 to 60 months are: 86.3% calories, 46.9% fats and 50.6% zinc. Conclusions: The average consumption observed in women and children is lower than the nutritional recommendations. Nutritional status does not correspond to excess or deficit in intake. Poor intake of micronutrients is due to insufficient consumption of vegetables and fruits
