ABSTRACT Question Research What the characteristics of articles published in Cuadernos are and Medical School teachers participation in them? Objective To describe characteristics of articles published in Cuadernos and Medical School teachers participation in them, since 1998 to 2007. Material and methods Transversal and descriptive research. Papers were abridged in 18 questions about: number of words in title, number of pages, type and class of article, design and depth, topic, number of authors by sex, profession, dependence, number of illustrations and number of references. Describers are: absolute and relative frequencies, middle, standar deviation, coefficient of variation, maximum, minimum and recur. Pertinence, contents, orientation, design, results, conclusions, credit and references were not analyzed neither judged. Results Improvement quality edition, increase original papers, women participation and others, like students, auxiliaries, medical residents, and stranger authors. Thirty per cent of all published articles were wrote by Medical School teachers.
