Abstract
MEDINACELI, Armando; MIRANDA-AVILES, Fabricio; FLORES-SALDANA, N. Paola and GUTIERREZ-CALUCHO, Estela. Herbivory in relation to plant size and degree of exposition in Pilea sp.(Urticaceae) at the Estación Biológica Tunquini, Cotapata, La Paz - Bolivia. Ecología en Bolivia [online]. 2004, vol.39, n.2, pp.4-8. ISSN 1605-2528.
We have analized the herbivory degree in plants of Pilea sp. (Urticaceae) in two zones with different exposition (NW, SE) in a tropical montane cloud forest at Tunquini Biological Station, La Paz Bolivia. We have applied the herbivory index (IH) proposed by Dominguez & Dirzo (1995), that shows significant differences between large and small plants. We did not find significant differences between different zones with different exposition (zones 1 and 2). There is no relationship between herbivory index in small plants and distance to large plants.
