Abstract The Geomagnetic Observatory of Villa Remedios, with latitude 16°46'0''S and longitude 68°10'0.1''W located at 3949 masl and the Neutron Monitor (NM-64) of the Cosmic Ray Laboratory of Chacaltaya, located at a latitude of 16°25'60'' S and longitude68°10'0.1'' W and 5220 masl, both located in the vicinity of the city of La Paz−Bolivia, continuously record the behavior of both the earth’s magnetic field and the radiation from cosmic ray particles. The September 2017 records show events called magnetic crochets, that correlate to increases in X-ray flux intensity recorded by sensors installed on the widely published NASA GOES satellites. These events are the result of the development of two notable solar flares, and the consequent generation of a radiation storm called GLE immediately arising from the fulguration of 06.09.2017 and 10.09.2017 together with geomagnetic storms which occurred a few hours after the coronal mass ejection, are shown. The solar flares convert the Sun into a powerful natural particle accelerator and a coronal mass emitter. Here we discuss some of the characteristics of these events and their possible isolation and use in further more detail studies.
