Abstract

We present the movement equations of a double pendulum with a resistance proportional to the velocity using the lagrangian formalism (the double pendulum system is simulated with the "yabasic" language). We solve these equations using the Runge-Kutta numerical method; as a result, we calculate the resistance coefficient of the medium using experimental data taken from a simple pendulum as a reference.
