Abstract

SUBIETA VASQUEZ, MARTIN A. Results of ALICE experiment for the cosmic ray physics Martin A. Subieta Vasquez. Revista Boliviana de Física [online]. 2014, vol.24, n.24, pp.7-13. ISSN 1562-3823.

A large number of events of atmospheric muons was registered and used to calibrate, align and set to work several of the ALICE (A Large Hadron Collider Experiment) experiment detectors located at CERN (Geneve, Switzerland). In this article we present the analysis of a part of these data aimed at studying the performance of the experimental apparatus and also at studying the measurements connected with the cosmic ray physics. We present the results of preliminary measurements of the Descripción: C:\SciELO\serial\rbf\v24n24\img\a01_figura_07.gif+/Descripción: C:\SciELO\serial\rbf\v24n24\img\a01_figura_07.gif− ratio for quasi-vertical atmospheric muons (zenital angle between 0o and 20o) registered by the central detectors of ALICE and for quasi-horizontal muons (zenital angle between 70o and 85o) registered by the muon spectrometer of ALICE. Finally, we compare these results with the data of previous experiments
