Abstract

JUANIQUINA, EMILIANA et al. GEOMETRICAL MODEL AND SPECTRAL CHARACTERIZATION OF FLUORESCENT TUBES EMITTING ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT. Revista Boliviana de Física [online]. 2012, vol.21, n.21, pp.12-18. ISSN 1562-3823.

The radiation from ultraviolet lamps, of the type used in sun beds, is measured and char­acterised using spectral and dosimetric techniques. We observe the significant presence of ultraviolet B radiation which represents a danger to health if time exposure is uncontrolled. Using the superposition principle we developed a computational model which takes the mea­sured radiation data of one lamp and calculates the combined effect of many lamps and geometries that make up potential systems such as sun beds.
