We present an estimate of the mass balance of the tropical glaciar at Zongo-Bolivia (we un­derstand as "mass balance" the mass gained or lost by the glacier in a given time interval); this estimate was carried out by two independent methods. We also analysed the balance's annual and monthly variability. We considered 15 hydrological years (1993-2008) and con­cluded that the years with a negative balance were related to a strong ablation (especially from September to December), and the years with a positive balance related to a strong ac­cumulation (especially from January to March).
