Based on a damped pendulum discrete model, we studied the synchronization conditions for two coupled pendula, varying both the pendula's features and coupling conditions. We found the basis for attraction in several situations in which the control parameters were fixed. Varying the control parameters (length, mass and damping coefficient), we found phase diagrams related to the initial conditions of one of the pendula; in these diagrams we identified synchronization regions. We emphasize the synchronization with a winding number ρ ≈ 1 (synchronization 1:1); nevertheless, other synchronization orders are possible (ρ ≠ 1).
