Resumen

A study was carried out to obtain a characterization of the mineralogical and petrographic properties of small fragments from a fallen meteorite found on the 15th September, 2007 at 4:44:20 PM UTC close to the locality of Huano­collo, within the Carancas Province of Perú at the coordinates 16º39′52” S and 69º02′32” W, and an altitude of 3825 masl. The results obtained from the analy­sis of the diffraction and fluorescence of X-rays and other analyses show that the sample corresponds to a chondrite meteorite.
