Abstract

LOPEZ ZUBIETA, Boris Alberto. MEDICIÓN DE VELOCIDADES DE FLUIDOS POR EFECTO DOPPLER. Revista Boliviana de Física [online]. 2008, vol.14, n.14, pp.65-72. ISSN 1562-3823.

The present article describes the design and construction of an laser anemometer using the equipment and instrumentation of laboratories at the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA). The laser anemometer allows for the measurement of fluid speeds, liquid or gaseous, without interfering with its dynamics. Its principle of operation is based on the interference produced by particles suspended in the fluid that disperse the electromagnetic wave produced by the laser. In spite of the experimental and technological limitations of our laboratories, the result was successful.

Keywords : fluid dynamics; dispersion of electromagnetic waves ; laboratory procedures.
