    Abstract

ANDRADE, Marcos. MITOS Y VERDADES ACERCA DEL CAMBIO CLIMATICO EN BOLIVIA. Revista Boliviana de Física [online]. 2008, vol.14, n.14, pp. 42-49. ISSN 1562-3823.

Due to the recent natural disasters Bolivian media have paid attention to the possible effects of climate change in Bolivia. Many of those disasters have been linked to global warning, El Nino, or the ozone hole among others. The aim of this paper is to identify the possible relationship between the observed or predicted natural disasters with those phenomena as well as to clarify, when appropriate, some key concepts in order to avoid confusion or erroneous interpretations. In these sense, ten common statements related to the possible effects of climate change in Bolivia are examined in terms of their scientific consistency in order to separate myth from truth.

Keywords : meteorology; atmosphere physics; global warming; ozone hole.
