Abstract

Congenital toxoplasmosis is an infection that occurs when a woman is infected during pregnancy. Acute infection in pregnant women is not apparent in about 90% of cases. We report 3 cases of infants born at the Hospital Roberto Galindo Teran de Cobija, none of them had a prenatal diagnosis, they presented multiple clinical findings: anterior and posterior fontanelles and sutures open, hepatosplenomegaly of 3 cm purpuric syndrome, microphthalmia, congenital infection of TORCH group was suspect, results of IgG and IgM serology for toxoplasmosis and ultrasonographic confirming the diagnosis of congenital toxoplasmosis in all cases. Mortality was present in 2 cases and one remained alive.
