Abstract

SALAS MALLEA, Ariel A.; BURGOA RIVERO, Claudia V.; YUPANQUI CASPA, Paola L.  and  ILALUQUE CORONEL, Sulema. Special considerations in parenteral administration of antimicrobial agents. Rev. bol. ped. [online]. 2007, vol.46, n.1, pp.51-58. ISSN 1024-0675.

Rational use of antimicrobial agents involves not only specific information about the patient (age, gender, immunologic state, renal and hepatic function, previous use of antibiotics, etc.), but also adequate knowledge about action mechanisms, preparation and administration (especially parenterally in hospital setting) and adverse effects of these agents. This review summarizes special considerations which are specifically related to parenteral administration of antimicrobial agents and their most common adverse effects.

Keywords : Antimicrobial; national use.
