NAVALON RAMON, Emilio; MARTINEZ RUIZ, Esperanza and MUNOZ JARAMILLO, Paloma. Juvenile idiopathic arthritis, variety systemic arthritis. A case report. Rev. bol. ped. [online]. 2006, vol.45, n.3, pp.163-165. ISSN 1024-0675.
The juvenile idiopathic arthritis is an arthritis of unknown etiology that begins before the 16th birthday and that prevails for at least 6 weeks. The systemic subtype (systemic arthritis) of the juvenile idiopathic arthritis is associated with arthritis, fever, and one or more of the following clinic features: evanescent erythematous rash; generalized lymph node enlargement; hepatomegaly and/or splenomegaly and serositis. We report a case of an 8-year-old male child suffering from arthritis in 3 joints, fever and evanescent rash, who was diagnosed of systemic arthritis (juvenile idiopathic arthritis’ subtype).
