Abstract

QUEVEDO P., Germán. Pre scrotal access: a surgical alternative for inguino-scrotal disorders correction. Rev. bol. ped. [online]. 2006, vol.45, n.1, pp.18-23. ISSN 1024-0675.

Objectives: the inguinal access was the tipical surgery for all inguino-scrotal disorders. We present our experience with prescrotal access to resolve the surgical inguino-scrotal disorders. Materials and Methods: we realize a prospective cohort study, from july 2004 to March 2005. Using the pre-scrotal access for: Inguinal Hernia, Inguinal cord cyst, Undescended palpable testicules (UDT), Testicular tumors, and Testicular torsion. Exclusion criteria was high inguinal localization´s testicules and retractile testicules. Result: we selected 30 patients with: Inguinal hernia 15, UDT 10, Inguinal cord cyst 1, Testicular tumor 1, Communicat bilateral hydrocele 1, Testicular torsion 2. The follow up was from 1 to 8 months. We did not see any important complication, only one partial skin suture´s dehiscence and another bleeding. Two patients who were under orchidopexy and the testicules did not have a low scrotal position, received hormonal therapy with Corionic gonadothrophin and their teticules achieve a comfortable position after the treatment. No patient had recurrence and the cosmetic skin results was excellent. Conclusion: the pre-scrotal access for surgical correction of the inguino-scrotal disorders is consideraded a low complication´s surgery. It is simple. The medium surgical time is very low. It can be used in all inguino-scrotal pathologies with excellent cosmetics results.
