PEREYRA ZAMORA, Lucio; ROJAS CANEDO, Carmen; CASTRO REVOLLO, Magueha y ALEGRE SERRANO, Raquel. Cutaneous larva migrans. Rev. bol. ped. [online]. 2004, vol.43, n.1, pp.21-22. ISSN 1024-0675.
Cutaneous larva migrans occurs due to skin penetration of larval nematodes not usually parasitic for humans. It is most frequently caused by Ancylostoma braziliense. It is more commonly seen in patients returning from tropical and subtropical regions, it is, therefore, expected to be seen in our region, Complications of this affection are: impetigo, local and general alergic reactions, and in occasions Loeffler Syndrome: transitory pulmonary infiltrations with blood eosinophilia. The case presented is that of a six-year-old boy with classical cutatenous larva migrans lessions complicated with impetigo that responded to specific treatment.
Palabras clave : cutaneous larva migrans; impetigo.
