TRINY LOAYZA, Wendy; CLAROS ESPINOZA, Karen Griselda y VALDEZ, Bethzi. Carlsson-Dent questionnaire and therapeutic trial with proton pump inhibitor in gastroesophageal reflux disease. Gac Med Bol [online]. 2014, vol.37, n.1, pp.15-19. ISSN 1012-2966.
Objectives: To determine the efficacy Questionnaire Carlsson-Dent (CCD) and the therapeutic test inhibitors proton pump for the diagnosis of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), in the Department of Gastroenterology of the Hospital Obrero N°2 (July-December 2013). Methods: a prospective, population-based, which included consecutive patients seen by the Department of Gastroenterology in whom the CCD, esophagogastroduodenoscopy and test inhibitor proton pump who obtained scores ≥ 4 was applied was performed. We classified the patients into three groups: 1 (≤ 3 points), 2 (4-11 points) and 3 (12-18 points). Results: 155 patients were included. Belonging 30% in Group 39% in group 2 and 31 % to group 3. Response to IBP, 42% reported overall positive response and 39% partial. The sensitivity and specificity of the CCD (cutoff 4 points) for the finding of esophageal disease were 92% and 39%, respectively. Conclusions: the CCD has considerable value as a diagnostic tool in the detection of GERD especially in the first level attention. Patients rated from 4 to 11 (group 2) of the CCD, are more likely to respond favorably to the therapeutic test PPI. Presenting those with higher rating to 12 (group 3) low response to therapeutic trial so you should consider a more precise approach in relation to complications of GERD.
