Objectives:To determine the médical and surgical managementof patients with Duodenal Trauma admitted in Viedma Hospital in the period 2007 to 2009. Methods: A prospective, descriptive and analytical paper is presented, which universe is made up of patients treated at the médical center with the diagnosis of Abdominal Trauma in the period from March 2007 to December 2009. The sample included 14 patients treated at the CHV diagnosed with Duodenal Trauma. Results: The main mechanism of injury was theresult of physical assaults and caraccidents,The mortality was 28% in close relation to the delay between injury and treatment,The most affected segments of duodenum were: with 84% were the second and third portion and associated organs most affected were the colon and stomach, the duodenorafia was performed in 93% of cases at two levels, 72% of the sample, check out without any complications.The average hospital stay was 12.8 days. Conclusions: The duodenum trauma is a rare disease in our country, representing 4.5% of patients admitted with diagnosis of abdominal trauma, the overall mortality depends on the time lag between the event and treatment, preoperative management, type of procedure used and its complications.
