The anemia produced bay lack of iron, is one of the most prevalent affections and constitutes the half of all aenemias in the world. This deficiency besides of affect biochemical and haematologyc factors, it is the main cause of inmune system deterioration and of alteration of membrane receptor expression, indispensable for micronutrientes entry to the cell. The objective of the present work was to study the immunemodulator effect of iron upon de cell immunity and the expresión of Tlymphocyte's membrane receptor of scholar children with anemia. The study was carried out on a population of 1095 scholars, 67 girls and 69 boys were selected aged between 5 and 10 years old; From this sample, 74% presented a hemoglobin concentration of ≤ 12.7 g/l as cutting point. To this group of children it was suplied ferrous sulfate for three months and specific immunologic tests wre done using the membrane markers CD1a and CD71. The results show an anemia's prevalencia of 20% and reduction of receptor concentration on CD1a and CD71 51%. A significative correlation exist between the decrease of immature lymphocytes and the disappearance of the transferrina receptors from cellular surface of them.
