This study propose an alternative diagnostic method. maybe confirmatory to premature membrane rupture (PMR) in pregnant women, thought the great importance of this pathologx in terms of mother and fetus mobility and mortality. We study the beta fraction of human corionic gonadotrophyn concentration determination present on vaginal fluids as a good diagnostic method for PMR following the work done by Bufalino et al. The study was prospective, comparative and was carried out at Hospital Materno Infantil Germán Urquidi (HMIGU). The sample was divided in two groups: 20 women with PMR and 20 with no PMR . The BGCH fraction was determined by radioimmunoassay (RIA). We find that in pregnant women with PRM. the BHGC was present in higher concentration than 12.3 mUI/ml. We conclude that the BHCG fraction is a simple, reliable and rapid proof for PMR diagnostic befare labor has been installed.
